How it runs
- 01An SMS or WhatsApp message arrives with a deadline
- 02The link resembles your bank's address but is not it
- 03The page asks for card number, expiry, CVV or net banking details
- 04The details are used within minutes
The tell
Urgency is the product. A real bank gives notice and never collects card details over a link.
If this happened to you
Block the card, then report it. Do not wait to see whether money moves.
If money left an account in the last few hours, call 1930 before anything else.
